Plant Journal and Community Section in Zielona Manufaktura

What can you record?

The journal supports 6 types of entries:

• Note - quick notes and thoughts
• Observation - what you see in the garden (growth, flowering, changes)
• Milestone - important events (first fruit, transplanting)
• Photo - photo documentation of progress (up to 5 photos per entry)
• Treatment - fertilizing, spraying, pruning
• Harvest - how much you harvested and when

Each entry is linked to a specific plant from your garden, giving you a complete history for each plant.

Gardener community

New is the Community section (/community) - a place where gardeners share their experiences with others.

How does it work?

1. You create an entry in your journal
2. You check the "Public entry" checkbox
3. The entry appears in the Community section available to everyone

What the Community section offers:

• Browse public entries from other gardeners without needing to log in
• Filter by entry type (observation, harvest, milestone...) and plant type (tomatoes, basil...)
• Commenting - logged-in users can comment on others' entries (with moderation)
• Sharing - buttons for sharing on Facebook, X/Twitter, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Pinterest and copying links
• Security - public links use UUIDs instead of numeric IDs, and entries are only visible when the author consciously makes them public

Open Graph meta tags - shared links display nicely on social media with title, description, image and site name.

• Website: Full journal under /journal, community under /community
• Mobile app: PlantJournalView, UserJournalView, CommunityView screens
• REST API: 9 journal endpoints + 2 comment endpoints
