Pots and containers — size matters

Коротко: Too small a pot is the most common reason for poor harvest. Each species has minimum capacity requirements — ignoring them leads to frustration.
Pots and containers — size matters

Pot size determines your harvest

Minimum capacities:

  • Cherry tomato: 15–20 L
  • Large-fruited tomato: 25–30 L
  • Pepper: 10–15 L
  • Balcony cucumber: 12–15 L
  • Basil (plant): 3–5 L
  • Strawberries: 4–5 L per plant

    Why size is so important:

  • Little growing medium = quick drying = constant water stress
  • Rapid nutrient depletion
  • Cramped roots = restricted growth

Rule: Choose a larger container if you're unsure. Too big practically doesn't exist. Too small — definitely does.
