The potato that changed everything — or why you can now add ANY plant

For a moment I was wondering whether to plan it at all this season. Because if it's not in the app, maybe that's a sign? Maybe this year instead of potatoes I'll plant another basil? But then I thought — there's still time. Planting isn't until the second half of April, and I can fix the app in the meantime. And that's exactly what I did.

What changed?

From today, when you add a new plant, you'll see an "Add custom plant" button at the top of the screen. One click and you have a clean form where you can enter anything — a potato you're planning to plant in two weeks, hokkaido pumpkin for summer, habanero pepper, or even exotic pitaya if you have such ambitions for this season.

On the website we added "From list" and "Custom plant" tabs — just switch and type the name.

One note: for custom plants the schedule doesn't generate automatically (because how am I supposed to know when to transplant your pitaya?). But don't worry — you can add tasks manually in the calendar, exactly as you like it.

Moral of this story

Never assume you know better than a gardener what they plan to plant in their garden. And if you're a programmer — never assume your list is complete. It's not. It never will be.
